Lucy A. (Peconi) Hamilton's Obituary
Lucy A. (Peconi) Hamilton, 86, of Solvay, passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Hospital on February 29, 2020 surrounded by her daughters and family. She was born in Syracuse, NY but lived in Solvay for over 58 years. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace (Logan) Peconi. She was also predeceased by 3 sisters, Theresa (Ernest) Bottino, Mary Ann (Henry) Aiello, Kathleen Brant; 1 brother, Peter (Jenny) Peconi; grandson, Derek Umstead, Jr. and son-in-law, Thomas Mulvey. Lucy is survived by her 4 daughters, Karen (Donald) Raymond, Debra (Thomas) Scherl, Laurie Mulvey, and Shelly (Dean) Tupper; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Anita) Peconi; brother-in-law, B. Gene Brant, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her lifelong friend, Annie Pellizzari and beloved family friend, Brittany Coan.
Lucy retired from Crouse Hinds. She was an avid bowler for many years at Strike & Spare Lanes and Solvay Recreation Alley. She had a passion for Syracuse University Athletics and spent many years as an usher for their games. Lucy was a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in St. Cecilia’s Church, Solvay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
