Lucy A. (Zingaro) Malvasi's Obituary
Lucy A. (Zingaro) Malvasi, 96, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2017 at her home.
She was born in Solvay to the late Luigi and Theresa (Spicciati) Zingaro on March 2, 1920. Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church, member of St. Therese Society, and volunteer and board member at St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary (30+ years) and Loretto Nursing Home.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Malvasi, in 1986, and her siblings, Carmella Plants, Anne Fantacone, Assunta Ranieri, Michael Zingaro, and John Zingaro.
She is survived by her five children, Anne Marie (Michael) Geiss, Linda (John) DeFrancisco, Frank (Mary) Malvasi, Michael (Vita) Malvasi, and James (Theresa) Malvasi; grandchildren, Michael (Tina) Geiss, Michelle ( Stephen) Militi, Allison (Mike) Alsever, John (Karen) DeFrancisco, Jeff DeFrancisco, Jennifer (Peter) Craig, Tina (Matthew) Moore, Sara (Steven) Trevino, Anthony, Nicholas, Michael, Matthew, Olivia and Andrew Malvasi; great-grandchildren, Michael Patrick and Maya Geiss, Mason and Nicolette Militi, Gabrielle and Griffin Alsever, Celia, Michaela, Evan, Adam and Arianna DeFrancisco, Isabel, Sophie and Ogden Craig, Matthew and Elizabeth Moore; sister, Rose Fredrizzi; brothers, Nicholas Zingaro and Louis (Monica) Zingaro; sister-in-law, Anne Zingaro; brother-in-law, Joseph Ranieri; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 13,
2017 in St. Cecilia’s Church, Solvay. Private entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
