Luigi Fusco 's Obituary
Luigi Fusco, 76, of Syracuse passed away on Wednesday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pescara, Italy, he came to Syracuse in 1961. He apprenticed as a barber at the age of 14. A barber for over 36 years, he first worked at the Eastwood Barber Shop and then became owner and operator of Hancock Airport Barber Shop from 1972 to 1998. Luigi retired on June 25, 1998 and that day was proclaimed "Luigi Fusco Day" by Mayor Roy Bernardi. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Teresa Fusco and his daughter-in-law, Hong Fusco.
Luigi is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Maria (Antinarella) Fusco; a son, Vincenzo (Margaret Ridings) Fusco of Cazenovia; 3 daughters, Theresa (Amy) Fusco of Syracuse, Marisa (Karl) Buechner of Syracuse and Tiziana (Jason) Lockwood of Liverpool; 4 grandchildren, Lavinia, Demetrius, Charles and Caleb and also Megan and Kevin Ridings; 2 sisters, Achillea and Amalia Fusco of Pescara, Italy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 AM Tuesday in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 10:00 AM in Holy Cross Church, Dewitt. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd, North Syracuse NY on Monday from 3 to 7 PM.
