Lydia (Rovito) Todisco's Obituary
Lydia (Rovito) Todisco, 92, of North Syracuse passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 16, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Sant ’Andrea, Calabria, Italy to the late Frank and Anna Maria Rovito.
Lydia grew up as a young woman in Italy before moving to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 14. She graduated from Columbia University with a master’s degree and was fluent in four languages. Lydia taught Spanish for many years. She enjoyed tennis and golfing and was a longtime member of Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Carmine and her brother, Aldo Rovito.
She is survived by her two loving children, Maria and Paul Todisco; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lydia’s family would like to extend a deep heartfelt thank you to Griswold Home Care and the Director, Micheal Assimon for their exceptional compassion and care.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main Street, N. Syracuse. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum.
