Lyndon F. Carman's Obituary
Lyndon Francis Carman, second son of Maude Leone (Clemons) and William Perley Carman, passed on May 24, 2022. He was born March 19, 1935 in the Town of Fowler, NY. He graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960 in the Counter Intelligence Corps. He was an expert marksman and won many competitions. Upon his discharge he was employed as an inside tool salesman (industrial cutting tools) by M. J. Kelly Supply Corp until 1995 and then Kelley and Kelly Industrial Supply until he retired in 1996.
On July 3, 1954 he married Marilyn DeLena Martin at the First English Lutheran Church in Syracuse. She passed on February 18, 1993. He married Sandra Yingling at Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse on Oct. 10, 1998.
Lyndon had a great sense of humor. He was most happy when he was helping others. He helped build houses in Syracuse with Habitat for Humanity, in Honduras with the Christian Commission for Development, and in Mexico with the Latin American Mission Partnership. He helped friends and family by renovating rooms, changing tires, gifting garden plants, mowing lawns, and making his famous beef burgundy. He was a great cook and a better gardener. He loved having friends over for dinner or just a visit. He enjoyed reading science fiction, feeding squirrels and birds, and tinkering in his workshop. He didn't have a mean bone in his body.
Lyndon donated his body to science.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Tracy Lyne Carman of Cazenovia; sister Evelyn Carman Teigen of Scio, Oregon; sister-in-law and husband, Eloise Guzior and Leonard Hoss of Niskayuna, NY; his Godchildren, Meggie and Andres Cunningham; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and treasured pet, Buddy. He was predeceased by siblings Vernon Carman of New Port Richey, FL (2009); Inez Fisher of Phoenix, AZ (2008); Olive Backus of Mexico, NY (2009); and Carol Ella Carman of Town of Fowler, NY (1940).
