Madeline (Allen) Guido's Obituary
Madeline (Allen) Guido, 96, of Liverpool, passed away at home peacefully with her family by her side on July 15, 2020. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Born in Warners, NY, to Mary and Michael Allen, she graduated from Warners High School where she enjoyed cheerleading and playing sports. During her working years she was an accountant. Madeline helped to develop the Woman’s Auxiliary for the Mattydale Hinsdale Park District, where she coached softball and enjoyed watching her children play baseball and softball. She and her husband Frank were avid Yankee fans and looked forward to yearly trips to watch them play at Yankee Stadium. After retirement, they loved spending winters at their Florida residence. Madeline enjoyed bingo, games on her I-PAD, word search books, shopping, meetings at the Mattydale Hinsdale Club, Friday night family get-togethers, and especially looked forward to her yearly birthday cruises. She also enjoyed special times with her friend, Joyce Byrd. They referred to each other as “Sisters by Heart.”
In addition to her parents, Madeline is predeceased by her husband, Frank Guido; siblings, Patsy and Louis Allen; son-in-law, Arnie Hurley, and great granddaughter, Taylor Fleming.
Madeline is survived by her children, Susan Guido, Steve Guido (Carol), Anne Hurley, Frank Guido (Trish), Sharon Camp (Alan) and Mary Vurraro (John); 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd., N. Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Madeline’s life at 12 pm (noon) at St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale, NY. Burial will take place in North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Madeline’s name to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
