Maggie (Amato) Lee's Obituary
Margaret "Maggie" (Amato) Lee, 94, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Menorah Park. She was born on March 7, 1918 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Dominic and Antoinette (Farsaci) Amato. Maggie was a lifelong north side resident and active in her community as a volunteer for St. Joseph's Hospital and was an usher for the Landmark Theater. She was a communicant with St. John the Baptist Church. Maggie was also a cheerleader for the Syracuse Senior Cyclones Softball team and a member of the McChesney Park Exercise Club. She was employed with Chappell's, New Process Gear and retired from Bristol Lab. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor "John" Lee; her son, Richard Lee; brothers, Joe and Sam and sisters, Anne "Nana" and Katherine. Maggie is survived by her two sons, John Lee and Ed (Robin) Lee; grandsons, Victor, John, Christopher and Gregory; granddaughters, Jennifer Dick and Alexandra and Francesca Lee; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Antoinette "Toni" Spadafore along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Maggie's memory to the Auxiliary of St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, 301 Prospect Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208 or to the Francis House, 108 Michael's Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
