Margaret A. (Arnold) Contard's Obituary
Margaret A. (Arnold) Contard, 68, of Liverpool, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of the late Duane and Henrietta (Dows) Arnold. Margaret graduated from Washington High School, Cedar Rapids, was an avid reader and political activist. She enjoyed talking to people and spending time with friends and family who were most important to her.
She was predeceased by her brother, Duane Arnold, Jr. and her sister, Elizabeth Arnold.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 38 ½ years, Christopher Contard; her two sons, Christopher (Ellen) Contard, Jr. of Aurora, CO and Ian Contard of Liverpool; her daughter, Amanda Contard of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Jake Lazzaro, Jordan, Nora, Alex and Annabelle Contard; two sisters, Helen B. Arnold and Mary G. Arnold, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Margaret’s life at 9:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one’s charity of choice.
