Margaret (Cerio) DeFabio's Obituary
Margaret (Cerio) DeFabio, 99, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Saratoga Center Nursing Home in Ballston Spa, NY. She was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of North High School and attended Comptometer School. Margaret was employed by Easy Washer, Will and Baumer, and Emkay Candle Company where she retired from in 1981. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and spending time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Mariantonia (Granato) Cerio; her husband, Francis A. DeFabio in 1981; 9 siblings and daughter-in-law, Michelle.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Robert (Roseanne) DeFabio of Ballston Lake, NY, Kenneth (Dorothy) DeFabio of Charlotte, NC, Arthur (Donna) DeFabio of San Francisco, CA and Joan (Gary) LaVancher of Liverpool; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Margaret’s life at 9:00 am at St. John the Baptist Church, Syracuse. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
