Margaret Jane (Fusco) Hathaway's Obituary
Margaret Jane (Fusco) Hathaway, 98, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Upstate University Hospital. She was born in Syracuse to the late Carmine and Angeline Fusco and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a naval reservist during the Korean Conflict. Margaret worked for the Federal Government for 27 years, retiring from the Veteran’s Hospital in Syracuse after several years. She was also a charter member of “Women in Military Service for America Memorial” in Arlington, VA and a member of “Military Women Across the Nation”.
Besides her parents, Margaret is predeceased by her brothers, Francis and John Fusco and her sister, Jilda Fusco.
She is survived by her son, John D. Hathaway, of Oceanside, CA; her brother, Michael Fusco; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service with Military Honors in celebration of Margaret’s life will take place at 11 am on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 4069 Howlett Hill Rd. Syracuse. In keeping with Margaret’s wishes there will be no calling hours.
