Margaret R. (Dolson) LaBeff's Obituary
Margaret R. (Dolson) LaBeff, 87, of Syracuse, passed away at home on Sunday, December 3, 2017. She was born in Syracuse and grew up in Providence Orphanage from age 2 until age 17.
Her first job was at Karmel Korn on Jefferson Street to get out on her own. At age 20, she started waitressing at The Crystal Grill, Martin’s Chicken on the Roof until the fire, then at Tino’s on N. Salina Street. For 25 years she worked at The Caroma on Lodi Street and went on to Crouse Hospital and Mirabito on Midler for 15 years each, until the good Lord made her stop working.
Margaret loved working, and enjoyed all her customers throughout the years. She also loved animals, especially dogs, although her children and grandchildren were most important to her. Margaret was a selfless and forgiving woman and will be truly missed.
Margaret is survived by her children, Donald (Beth), Terry (MaryAnn), John LaBeff, and Kathy Russo; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and best friends, Rosemary and Paul Weatherup.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of CNY.
