Marguerite J. "Muggs" (Storto) Fanizzi's Obituary
Marguerite J. “Muggs” Fanizzi, 84, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Theodore and Maria (Ferrante) Storto. Muggs worked as a waitress for most of her life at Storto’s Restaurant. She then continued working at DiLauro’s Bakery. Muggs was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Senior Citizens Club. She had a passion for cooking and baking, which she shared with many. The time she spent with her family was most important to her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Santo Fanizzi in 2009; four brothers, Theodore, Alfred, Raymond and Richard Storto; three sisters, Emily Tursi, Elizabeth “Betty” Stagnitta and Helen Czaja.
Marguerite is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Marguerite’s life at 11:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
