Maria A. Kennedy's Obituary
Maria A. Kennedy, 72, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. She was born in Syracuse to the late John and Theresa (Visconte) Kennedy. Maria graduated from Henninger High School and received an associate’s degree with honors from Onondaga Community College. She worked at the Syracuse VA Medical Center for 42 years. Maria also ushered at Landmark Theater, Redhouse Arts Center, Oncenter, Civic Center, Syracuse Stage, NBT Bank Stadium and JMA Wireless Dome. She loved the theater and traveling. Maria spent the last year taking cruises around the world.
Maria is survived by her siblings, Carmela Raphael and Rocco Kennedy; her nieces, Theresa Raphael and her fiancé, Nick Castellano, Alana Raphael and Kara Kennedy; her nephew, John Raphael; along with many cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service in celebration of Maria’s life at 1:00 P.M. at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
