Maria J. (Ragonese) Cerio's Obituary
Maria J. (Ragonese) Cerio, 70, of N. Syracuse, passed away Monday after a long and courageous battle. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Louis and Joanna (Raiti) Ragonese. Maria was a member of the Worship Team at Abundant Life Christian Center and loved singing for the Lord. She also volunteered there as a receptionist and teaching assistant. Maria retired from Nationwide Insurance and also worked as a court clerk with the Town of Clay and as a legal secretary. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and her camp in Pulaski. Above all, Maria loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Maria is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Donald Cerio; her six children, Cara (Mark) Richards of Baldwinsville, Dena (Thomas) Kantak of Liverpool, Joel Cerio of N. Syracuse, Jacob (Chris) Cerio of Tully, Jeremy (Erin) Cerio of Hilton, NY and Jonathan Cerio of N. Syracuse; eight grandchildren and her brother, Anthony (Robin) Ragonese of CA.
A Funeral Service celebrating Maria’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Abundant Life Christian Center. A private entombment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
