Maria (Volpacchio) Spicciati's Obituary
Maria (Volpacchio) Spicciati, 94, of Liverpool and Cocoa Beach, FL., passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 4, 2019. Maria was born on Nov 11, 1924 in Campobasso, Italy, the only child of the late Angelo and Giuseppina (Lamanna) Volpacchio. Maria migrated to Syracuse, NY in 1954 and became a U.S. Citizen five years later. She was a communicate of Our Lady of Pompei Church. Maria lived as the family matriarch; she enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and friends. Maria was an avid fan of WWE (WrestleMania) and any casino.
She is predeceased by her husband, Vincenzo Spicciati in 1997 and daughter-in-law, Sherry Lee Spicciati in 2018.
Maria is survived by her loving son, Frank Spicciati of Cocoa Beach, FL; her loving daughter, Angelina Guastella of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Ribarovski of Brewerton, Vincent Spicciati & Frank (Debbie) Spicciati of Cocoa Beach, FL; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Antonio (Carmelina) Spicciati; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Maria’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
