Maria G. Tamilia's Obituary
Maria G. Tamilia, 86, of Liverpool, passed away on Monday at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Ripabottoni, Italy, daughter of the late Domenico and Maria (Casacalenda) Tamilia. Maria was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. She loved to cook and would jar her own tomato sauce. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do as well as host parties for her family and friends.
Kind, generous and warm hearted she was the true meaning of Pure Love for all who surrounded her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Antonio Tamilia, her son, Pietro Tamilia, and two brothers.
Maria is survived by her three daughters, Andrea Pierina of Liverpool; Michelle (David) Emore of Cicero; Anna Pignatti (Duane Sherwood) of North Syracuse; two grandsons, David (Amanda) and Nicholas (Holly); two granddaughters, Ashley (Toby) and Corina; four great-grandchildren, Dominic, Elaina, Savannah and Scarlett; her sister, Antoniette Tamilia-Ciarla.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road) in North Syracuse. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 9 a.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, and at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave. in Liverpool where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
