Maria Varesano's Obituary
Maria Varesano was called by her Savior Jesus Christ to be with Him on July 7, 2012. Maria was born in the province of Bari, Italy, and later emigrated to the United States. A graduate of the Teacher’s Normal School in Italy, she served as an elementary school teacher for numerous years. After World War II, her fiancée, Nicola Varesano, returned to Italy, where they were married. Maria came to the United States in 1947, and obtained her U. S. Citizenship. She was devoted to her family and her faith. Maria was a long-time communicant of St. John the Baptist Parish. Throughout her life, she turned to Christ as her constant Refuge and Companion. She supported several mission charities of the Catholic Church, and sponsored several seminarians of the St. John Bosco Seminary in Ecuador to become priests. Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Nicola Varesano, and by two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her daughter, a niece and two nephews. God bless you Mom, and may all the Angels be with you.
