Marianne J. (Conte) Isbell's Obituary
Marianne J. (Conte) Isbell, age 86, passed away surrounded by loving family on June 1, 2023.
Born to Nunzio and Anne Conte on September 21, 1936, in Syracuse. Marianne was married to George W. Isbell on October 1, 1960.
While raising her three children, she worked at Syracuse University where she served as the secretary to the Chairman of The Psychology Department.
Marianne loved her entire family, and cherished family gatherings and celebrations. She was famous for her Coffee Cake at all special events. She enjoyed watching football. Often visited Salina Free Library, was an avid Jeopardy fan and always pursued knowledge. She attended daily mass and was an active member, Eucharistic Minister, Lector and volunteer of St. Margaret’s Parish in Mattydale. She belonged to Town of Salina Seniors where she served as the Sunshine Officer. She enjoyed many social outings with her friends, including trips to play Bingo. Marianne loved to cook and enjoyed gatherings with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, George on September 18, 2013, and sister, Rosemary (Conte) Grosso.
Marianne is survived by her children, Dorothy Farrell (Timothy) of Ogdensburg, NY, David Isbell (Christine) of Liverpool, NY, and Judith Paules (Jerry) of Oswego, NY; grandchildren, Katherine Covault (Jeffrey), Jennifer Isbell, Alyssa Myers (Robb), Emily Kenneally (David), Lauren Scheuer (Joseph), Matthew Isbell (Nicole), and Anna Hess; also several great-grandchildren; siblings, Johanne Calaprico (Anthony) and Gennaro Conte (Diane), along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Marianne’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Epiphany Parish at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Assumption Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Margaret’s Church Food Pantry.
