Marie R. (Ray) Covino's Obituary
Marie R. (Ray) Covino, 100, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Saturday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Louis and Angelina (Lamanna) Ray. Marie worked at Brown- Lipe- Chapin where she met her husband, Thomas, and in her later years worked for Dey Brothers for 18 years. She was also the president of St. Daniel’s senior group, “The Wisdom People” and an avid bowler for many years. Marie’s home was always open and welcome to all, and she was a great mother who loved her grandsons dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Thomas, and her siblings, Joseph Ray, Margaret Luzzi and Dorothy Lando.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Donna M. Covino and Deborah (Ralph III) Tortora; 3 grandsons, Daniel (Kate) Tortora, Nico Reda and Miguel Reda; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Marie will be held at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral mass at St. Daniel Church at 9:00 A.M. Entombment will take place at Woodlawn Mausoleum. Family and friends may call on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 4 – 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
