Marie Raymond Hays' Obituary
Marie Raymond Hays went to be with her Lord on August 24, 2018 at the age of 90 in Tampa, Florida. She was born Feb. 16, 1928 in East Smethport, PA to Elmer and Nellie Raymond and lived in Pennsylvania until her freshman year of high school when she moved to Liverpool, NY. After high school, she worked at Lincoln Bank where she met, and later married Charles Hays, who predeceased her. She had a variety of other jobs, but her favorites were being a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend. In addition, she was a member and choir member of the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, TOPS and Western New York Club.
She was also predeceased by her companion, Zane Gray; her grandson, Patrick Hays and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Hays.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Bryce) Pooley; two sons, Jeffrey Hays and Paul (Kelly) Hays; seven grandsons; Scott (Amy Hays), Jason (Jess) Hays, Joseph Hays, Kevin (Alisia) Pooley, Derek Pooley, Andrew Hays and Brett Hays; two brothers, Don and LaVerne Raymond; three sisters, Lillian Knechtel, Barbara Witowski and Kay (John) Renzoni. She was also very proud of her eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 1-3 pm, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
