Marie (Mallaro) Spuches' Obituary
Marie (Mallaro) Spuches, 75, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Francis House with her loving family by her side. Marie was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Nicholas Sr. and Frances Geiss Mallaro. Marie was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero and enjoyed playing pitch for many years in a pitch league. Her greatest joy was spending time with, and cooking for her family.
Marie was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Diane F. Lattanzio; four brothers, Luke, Samuel, Carmen and Nicholas Mallaro, Jr.; and her sister, Grace Tichko.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Spuches; her son, Michael Spuches; daughters, JoAnne Spuches and Lisa (Dennis) Smith; six grandchildren, Erich, Michael Jr., Felicia, Rocco, Harley and Sarah; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved grand-dog “Melo”.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Marie’s life at 11 :00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marie’s memory may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave. Syracuse, NY 13208.
