Marietta Battista's Obituary
Marietta Battista, 92, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2016. Born in Fondi, Italy to the late Francesco & Assunta (Arduina) DiTrocchio. She was married in Italy to Antonio Battista immigrating to the U.S. in 1958. A devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Grandma will be greatly missed for her delicious Sunday meals, especially her great pasta latte, cavatelli and sauce and her famous meatballs. She had a great passion for tending to her garden.
Marietta is predeceased by her husband, Antonio Battista (1989) and a son, Alex Battista (2004).
She is survived by two daughters, Concetta (Guglielmo) Riccardi of Fondi, Italy and Joanne Renaud (John Kaufman); three sons, Gino Battista, Peter Battista (Mary Whipple) and Frank Battista;14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; special caregiver Kristin Hagerty for her years of great care and devotion.

Funeral services will be at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Marietta’s life at 10:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
