Dear Maria - My deepest sympathy to you and your family on your beloved Dad's passing. Your dedication and unconditional love in caring for him through his illness is to be commended. Losing a parent is difficult but know that he will be looking down from heaven smiling, but STILL tutoring and guiding you along the way as you continue his legacy.
As a former Wedding Coordinator, I had the privilege of working closely with both of you as you orchestrated all the musical selections for the reception and ceremony to sheer perfection in which rave reviews followed. . As an added bonus, you all delighted our guests at my daughter's reception eleven years ago. The "joint" was rockin!
I can visualize Mario up in heaven utilizing his magnificent talent playing piano while the Angels and Jesus are dancing to all his tunes!
RIP dear friend!

Anita & Family,
So sorry for your loss. Throughout the years I've enjoyed the gift of music that Mario and your family have given to us. Whether it was at a concert, working at Chappell's, Kaufmanns, most recently, 130th Anniversary Sacred Heart Cicero. Watching my children grow into beautiful musicians and vocalists, learning from the school music programs, and now my grand daughter in Theater & Corist at Bishop Ludden. The legacy goes on. Thank you for the beautiful gift of music and love. My prayers are with you.
Love,
Linda Flynn (Remember me from Chappell's & Kaufmanns Store Mgr.)
Rest in Great Peace, Mario. And, thank you for sharing your talents throughout your life. We enjoyed you and your music. Thank you for your service to the community threw your music stores, the school music programs, Pompeiian Players and so much more. Lastly, thank you for your family, too. They are a wonderful bunch. Love to you in heaven.
To Maria and family, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your father. He was a great man who shared the love of music with the whole community. He also shared his love with family. God Bless him and all of you. With deepest sympathy, Joyce Piatkowski Behling
To the entire DeSantis family, your loss is shared by the entire community. A great man who contributed in so many ways to so many people. He was truly “The Music Man” and he will always be remembered as the “leader of the band”. My prayers are with you. John B
Dearest Cousins, While you don't all know me well, as a fellow musician Icannot begin to tell you the influence your husband and dad had on me in my my formative years. My mom was his cousin Genevieve, and always held Mario in such high esteem; and coming from my mom, that was a MAJOR compliment. I worked with him with the Pompeiian Players and then spent years listening to his wonderful orchestra. It was especially wonderful to watch and listen to his daughter Maria, as she became a superstar singer under his tutelage. He was always such a kind person and the beautiful wedding gift I received from him and Anita still sits proudly in my home (45 years later). May the memories you all share bring smiles to your faces during this sad time. Mario made a major contribution to the Central New York area with his musical talent and influenced hundreds, perhaps thousands of students with his music. I don't believe he will "rest in peace", but instead is putting his orchestra together in heaven. Love and sincerest sympathy to all of you.
Maria and family, Patti and I send our condolences on the passing of Mario. We recalled all the wonderful events where we danced to the beautiful music of his orchestra. He is a legend on the Syracuse music scene. Patti and Nick Pirro
That friendly man in the grand music store, practically welcoming me to Syracuse in late 80's. What a huge Second line sendoff that man deserves. Sad times now to lose a one man institution on the CNY music scene. Love to Maria and the rest from Norway. Stein
Maria,Andrea, and family. Thought the world of your father, from my time teaching at St Cecilia’s . He definitely made his mark on our community, and it continues through you beautiful girls!
