Marion E. (LaPointe) Bova's Obituary
Marion E. (LaPointe) Bova, 85, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Marion’s joys in life were spending time at the casino with her husband Vincent and daughter Patti. This coming June they would have celebrated 67 years of marriage. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her great-granddaughter, Ava Richmond.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Nada LaPointe, sisters, Margaret and Paula and brother, Richard.
Marion is survived by her loving husband, Vincent Bova; daughters, Antoinette and Patti Bova; her son, Phillip (Chrisine) Bova; her close friend that she considered a daughter, Linda (Mike) Drazek; grandchildren, Louis DeLucas, Stephanie (Joseph) Richmond, Carrie (Chris) Germain, Vincent and Phillip Bova, Jeffrey and Daniel Drazek; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Edna Stevenson; sister-in-law, Marie Bova, along with several nieces and nephews.
The Bova family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospital ER and 2nd floor staff for their kindness and all their efforts for trying to help Marion survive her fight with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Marion’s life at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marion’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 973 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203.
