Mark K. Fenton's Obituary
Mark K. Fenton, 63 of LaFayette passed away at home Sunday morning, February 11, 2018, surrounded by family. He was born in Syracuse and spent his childhood years in the Galeville area of Liverpool, graduating from Liverpool High School in 1973.
Syracuse University basketball and football were his passion. Ever the avid fan, Mark supported both teams throughout the years, no matter what their records. He truly enjoyed setting up for the Sky Top tailgate parties and sharing the comradery with all his friends who partied with him. Over the years, new friends were made, and were promptly added to the Sky Top tailgate family.
After 42 dedicated years with Crouse-Hinds where he had been a valued employee, Mark retired on September 28, 2016. Mark had the uncanny ability to improve prototype designs and custom fabricate just about anything. He was the respected ‘go-to’ man to solve any design challenge that was presented to him.
Mark was also an avid hunter and outdoors man. One of his favorite times of year was when he could deer hunt with his buddies at their camp in Norwich. Away from city life, Mark could be outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the woods.
Mark was predeceased by his mother June (Beach) Fenton, sister Patricia Fenton and brother Gary Fenton
Mark is survived by his wife JoAnne (Swayze) Fenton; and daughters Kimberly DeMott, Nicole Fenton, and Brandy Fenton. He is survived by his father, William Fenton, Sr. (Barbara); brothers William Fenton, Jr. (Patricia) of Fresno, California; Michael Fenton (Catherine) of Baldwinsville; sisters Mary Beth Fenton (Tzion Simchy) of Canastota and Theresa Gridley of Liverpool; a step-daughter, Anne Dyczka; step-son, Thomas Pugliese; grandsons Shane Beauregard, Zack DeMott, Sammy DeMott, and Aiden Grevelding, as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by a donation made in Mark’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation of Central New York, 731 James St, Suite 408, Syracuse, NY 13203 or Hospice of Central New York, 990 7th North St, Liverpool, NY 13088
