Mark William Hopkins' Obituary
Mark William Hopkins, a vacation resort sales manager and resident of Orlando, Florida, died from heart complications on August 7, 2018 at the age of 60.
Mark is survived by his three children and spouses, Christa Leigh Haycock (Hopkins), Shawn William Hopkins and Brian Ray Hopkins; his seven grandchildren; two siblings’ brother, Steven Hopkins and sister, Lisa Anderson; and his significant other, Karen Tomori. He is predeceased by his wife, Joanne Hopkins and parents, Howard Hopkins Jr. and Mary Hopkins (Zimmer).
Mark was born in Syracuse, NY on August 2, 1958 to Howard and Mary Hopkins (Zimmer). He spent a good portion of his career working in the tractor trailer industry as a sales manager. When he moved to Florida in 2004, he changed careers to real estate. He worked at Vacation Village Resort for over ten years and was often awarded top sales employee.
Mark was a devoted father and avid golfer. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time on the beach. Most importantly, Mark’s happiness came from spending time with his grandkids. He had a great sense of humor and was always laughing. Mark was a friend to all and created a sense of warmth and comfort for those around him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Mark’s life at 6:30 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
