Marlene Mazie Ely's Obituary
Marlene Mazie Ely, 83, of Clay, passed away at Loretto Nursing Home, Monday, February 13, 2023. She was born in Bradford County, PA to her late parents, Mazie (Fenton) and Myron Girven on October 9, 1939. Marlene was a graduate of Wyalusing High School, PA.
Marlene loved her job as the Audio-Visual Specialist for the Liverpool School District. She retired in 2006. Her favorite things to do before and after retirement was to spend time with her family.
Marlene was predeceased by her brothers, Sydney and Donald.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Carl Ely and her children, Lynn (Michael) Lizzi and Mitchel (Laurie) Ely; grandsons, Colin (Valerie) Becker and Alex (Chelsea) Rose; great-grandsons, Chase, Cole, Carl and Xander; her sisters, Lucille (James) DeVore, Teresa Sickler and brothers, Alan (Phyllis) Girven, Ronald (Lorraine) Girven, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Fayetteville Assisted Living, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Loretto Nursing Home.
A family celebration of Marlene’s life will be held at a later date.
