Martha L. (Ianuzzi) Almanzi's Obituary
Martha L. (Ianuzzi) Almanzi, of Syracuse, passed away on her birthday at the age of 93 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of North High School. Martha married her husband John on September 1, 1956 and together raised her family after working as a secretary and also helping her aunt, Grace Scibilia at her fruit stand. She was a devoted catholic and communicant of Holy Cross Church in DeWitt. Martha looked forward to the autumn and winter seasons and enjoyed crocheting afghans for family and friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Almanzi, in 1995; her brother, Nicholas Ianuzzi and sister, Mary Jane Maio.
Martha is survived by her two children, Anthony J. (Jackie) Almanzi of DeWitt and Joanne Almanzi of Syracuse; two grandchildren, Corey (Kasey) Almanzi of Baldwinsville and Nicholas Almanzi of DeWitt; three sisters, Carmelina Giannino of Syracuse, Grace Mondo of Florida, and Lillian Maio of Fayetteville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Martha’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
