Martin J. Hance's Obituary
Martin J. Hance, 85, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday at Van Duyn Home and Hospital. Born in DeKalb Junction, NY, he served with the US Army during WWII. Martin was previously employed with the City of Syracuse at Hancock Airport. He was an avid bowler, loved dancing and taking care of his family. He was predeceased by his son, David M. Hance and daughter, Vicki L. Hamacher. Martin is survived by his 2 daughters, Carole A. Nosewicz of Baldwinsville and Cherie L. (Daniel) McCauley of Liverpool; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Mahlon (Ruth) Hance of Messina, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 8:00 AM in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 9:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veteran's Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. Martin's family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff on 3C at Van Duyn. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
