Mary Antonia (Abruzzo) Rivizzigno's Obituary
Mary Antonia (Abruzzo) Rivizzigno, 94, of Lyncourt, passed away peacefully August 9, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Red Bank, NJ to the late Maria Concetta (Maduri) and Antonio Abruzzo, she was employed at many places in Syracuse including, Flickengers, Easy Washers, Butternut Paint & Wallpaper, and Grants Department Store. In her free time, Mary enjoyed sketching, baking, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Angelo, in 2003; her sisters, Theresa Minieri, and Rose Talarico; her brother, Joe Abruzzo; and her pets, Toby, and Sassie.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Leslie) Rivizzigno, Angelo (Holly) Rivizzigno, Mary Ann Rivizzigno, and Rosemarie (Rick) Earle; grandchildren, Randy, Danielle, David, and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Autumn; her new puppy, Peanut, who stole her heart; special nieces Mary Beth and Cathy Talarico who helped take care of Mary over the last few months; as well as several other nieces, and nephews.
A funeral mass in celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 10:00 am in St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court St. Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court St. Syracuse, NY 13208.
