Mary C. (Albanese) Cargian's Obituary
Mary C. (Albanese) Cargian, age 90, went peacefully to God on March 21, 2020 at Community Hospital. As a lifelong resident of Jamesville, Mary became a pillar of her hamlet. Mary was born in East Syracuse, NY to the late Michele and Margherita (Galeazza) Albanese. Mary was a 65-year member of St. Mary's parish, and former President of the Altar and Rosary Society. Some of her many accomplishments include a BA from the College of St. Rose, a Master’s in Education from Syracuse University, six years as a Councilwoman on the Town of Dewitt Board, while on the board served as Police Commissioner, a founder of the Jamesville Museum, a Teacher at the Phoenix Central School District as well as the Jamesville-Dewitt School District, and a Realtor for over 47 years.
Mary spent her later years enjoying her grandchildren, reading (173 books last year alone), and listening to opera. She will be truly missed by all who were lucky enough to meet her.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick P. Cargian
Mary is survived by and was a wonderful mother to her five children, Susan (Robert) Miller, Maria Cargian, Ovidio John (Clare) Cargian, Frederick Cargian, Michael (Nancy) Cargian; Mary was grandmother to ten grandchildren, Marya, Peter and Tess Kaszubinski, Thomas Iandolo, Ross (Michelle), John and Mary Miller, Olivia and Catherine Cargian, and newest grandchild, year old Camille Cargian.
Funeral services in celebration of Mary’s life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.
