Mary Anne Mannara's Obituary
Mary Anne Mannara, 88, of Syracuse, New York passed to the Lord on September 26th after a short illness. She will be remembered with love by her family and friends.
Mary Anne was born on September 20, 1934, to the late Ferdinando and Rosanna (DiOrio) Mannara. She graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Social Work. Mary Anne was employed by the City of Syracuse for many years, specifically with the Syracuse Employment and Training Agency (SETA) as an employment counselor where she helped many people in the Syracuse area with training and finding employment. Mary Anne was awarded the Father Brady Award for her work in employment counseling with minorities in Syracuse. She also received the Jefferson Award for Recognition of Outstanding Public Service.
In addition to her parents, Mary Anne is preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Thomas; sisters, Eleanora Daloia and Susan Vendetti.
She is survived by her brothers, Louis and Father Fred; her sisters, Rose and Caroline Mannara, and Loretta Chase; as well as 11 nieces and nephews and 23 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Most Holy Rosary Church with visitation prior from 9:15 – 10:15 AM. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
The family would to thank Dr. Nicholson, Dr. Murthy, Dr. Scalzo, Dr. Berkery, Dr. Azar, and the staff and nurses in the ICU at Crouse for their compassion and care for Mary Anne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Most Holy Rosary School, 111 Roberts Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13207.
