Mary (D'Onofrio) Egan's Obituary
Mary Egan (97) of Bridgeport, NY passed away peacefully at home. Called to heaven by her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Mary joins her parents, Joseph and Angeline (Tranchase) D'Onofrio; sister Fay (Mike) Valerio; brothers, Ralph (Marilyn), Jimmy (Nancy), Tony (Leda), several nieces, nephews, grandson Jordan and beloved and faithful husband, Jim.
Mary lived a long and blessed life after surviving a lengthy medical condition occurring in her early twenties. She became an avid reader during this time. God showed favor and several years later she married and began her family.
She worked as a Teacher's Assistant for the Syracuse City School District, secretary at Church of the Resurrection (Life church) where she also taught Sunday school, adult bible studies and a core member of Friends Fellowship Young Hearts for many years and encouraged the birth of Psalm 19. She also worked as secretary for several law firms in her "retirement."
Mary did take time out to travel with family, cruise with friends, vacationed in Hawaii, Ireland and of course Italy where she visited with cousins and stayed in the home where her mother was born.
Mary leaves a beautiful legacy of love, faith and persevering through all of life's circumstances to her children; Elaine (Larry) Kutz, Kathy (Ken) Clifford, Donna (Ray) Smith, Jim (Donna) Egan, (19) grandchildren, (25) great-grandchildren, and (2) great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 16th, 2026, at Abundant Life Church 7000 All Nations Blvd, East Syracuse NY from 10am to noon followed by a memorial service.
