Mary (Walker) Fallon's Obituary
Mary W. Fallon, 69, of Cicero, passed away Sunday at home with her husband Tom and best friend Bogart, her American Staffordshire terrier by her side.
She was born a triplet of Margaret and Michael Walker of Whittier Ave. “Toe Head Mary” as her father called her his blonde blue eyed Viking, was always outspoken. A worker, she peddled newspapers, babysat, worked at Dey Brothers, and as a teller at Onondaga Savings Bank throughout high school and college. A 1971 graduate of Le Moyne College, Mary taught English at North Syracuse High School, St. Bridget’s Middle School, NYC lower east side, Shay Middle School for 3 years, and Henninger High School, 11th and 12th grade, and AP for 15 years. Due to a neck injury her career ended. While in NYC, she ran the gold exchange at the south tower World Trade Center for 1 ½ years.
Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dr. Thomas J. Fallon; her children, Dr. Thomas B. Fallon and his wife, Dr. Melissa Fallon; Michael F. Fallon, and Dr. John F.X. Fallon; grandchildren, Reagan, Gracie, and Luke, and her best four legged friend, Bogart. Mary is also survived by a long list of siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends whom she all loved dearly.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Patrick's Church, 216 North Lowell Ave., Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, Francis House, CNY SPCA, or to Treat Yourself Gently.
