Mary (Polimino) Gorgoni's Obituary
Mary (Polimino) Gorgoni, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully June 15, 2022, at Crouse Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Syracuse to the late Joseph and Carmela (Malara) Polimino, Mary was the co-owner and operator of Joseph’s at the Carriage House with her late husband, Joe Gorgoni for 61 years.
Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2021; sisters, Josephine Eskenazi, and Jennie Raterman; and her brothers, Dominick “Nick,” Santo, and Patsy Polimino.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Marisa (Albert) Ovadias; sons, James (Lisa) Gorgoni, and Joseph “Duke” (Stephanie) Gorgoni; 8 grandchildren, Mathew, Michael, and Luke Ovadias, Alex and Mikey Gorgoni, Gabriela, Salvatore, and Adelena Gorgoni; her sister, Palma Scicchitano; sisters-in-law, Sandy Polimino and Carol Polimino; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY 13212 immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Mary’s life at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
The Gorgoni family would like to acknowledge Tammy, Desi, Mary Anne, and lifelong friend, Addie for their loving and compassionate care which they provided to Mary over the past year. We would also like to thank Kimberly and her staff at Crouse Hospital for their extraordinary care and attention given to our family.
