Mary Jane (Stagnitta) Nesci's Obituary
Mary Jane (Stagnitta) Nesci, 77, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Stagnitta.
Mary Jane was a doting mother and grandmother, some of her favorite years were spent in Eastwood attending Eastwood High School. She was the president of her sorority and voted “most popular” and was known for her larger-than-life personality. Mary Jane stayed home to raise her two children while working with her husband running Nash Construction for many years. She enjoyed her monthly luncheon with her special Eastwood High School friends, playing tennis, camp days at Sandy Pond and Nesci family reunions. Mary Jane loved cooking her Sunday Sauce and Italian Meatballs for family and friends. She lived for her children and grandchildren, never missing a sporting event or opportunity to be with her family and would go to the moon and back for them. We will forever remember and cherish the family values she instilled in all of us. She was our angel on earth.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Larry “Bucky” Nesci.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Lauren Vassallo and son, Larry (Lindsey) Nesci; her grandchildren, Mia and Joseph Vassallo III and Larry Anthony Nesci II; her sister, Anna Marie (Gordon) Slade, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 10:30 – 11:30 am at Epiphany Parish at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Mary Jane’s life at 12pm at the church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool, NY. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Francis House, 108 Michael’s Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
