Mary LaGrange's Obituary
Mrs. Mary LaGrange, 99 years old, of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2021.
She was born August 21, 1921 in Syracuse, NY. One of five daughters of the late Antonio and Rosina (Spracolla) Brock.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Francis LaGrange; and her sisters, Lee Brock, Virginia Caselle, Clara Centore and Esther DeMauro.
She is survived by her devoted son, James Francis LaGrange, Jr. (Marlene); her treasured grandchildren, James LaGrange (Jennifer), Kellie Nasiff, Nicole Garofalo (Dominic), Kristen Walsh (Daniel), Lindsay LaGrange, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Tyler, Julia, Isabelle, Haylie, Dominic, Brianna, Riley and Reagan. She also has many nieces and nephews, and most recently treasured the opportunities to regularly visit with her niece Carla remotely.
Mary worked as a seamstress at Learbury Clothing for many years. She often shared stories of her many fun and carefree escapades during that time. She loved to sew and has created many well-loved aprons for all the girls in the family, these will continue to be worn for years and will bring such warm memories. Her joy of baking resulted in her compiling years of treasured recipes to pass along, there was never a visit to Gramma’s that didn’t have Italian pastries or a pie to share!
Mary lived independently for many years in Syracuse, then most recently she resided at Buckley Landing Assisted Living where she kept the employees on their toes and the other resident’s busy playing cards and bingo. She was always up for a quick dance and kept her friends entertained. Mary lived an abundant life and, in the end, simply enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very close to her son and each of her grandchildren, she will be dearly missed by everyone, yet the wonderful memories that have been made will be kept close and cherished forever.
Per Mary’s wishes, private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
