Mary M. (Merluzzi) Bombard's Obituary
Mary M. (Merluzzi) Bombard, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 6, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Paul and Teresa (Bersani) Merluzzi. Mary was a long time local self-employed hairdresser.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bombard; her twin daughters and 8 siblings.
Mary is survived by 5 children, Joseph R. (Susan) Bombard, Lisa (Mark) Downey, Maria (Kurt) Honis, Teresa (Ronald) Russo and Tina (Michael) Assimon; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) McGovern, Chris (Kathryn) Bombard, Joanna (Kevin) MacLachlan, Katherine and Kristina Downey, Rachel, Ben and Adam Honis, Dr. Ronald, Danielle and Charles Russo, Nicole, Erica, Carly and Luke Assimon; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Anthony and Alfred Merluzzi; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Mary’s life at 12 pm (noon) in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
