Mary C. Mirizio's Obituary
Mary C. Mirizio, 99, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Monday at Iroquois Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born in German, PA to the late Paolo and Philomena (Rocca) Nicolardi. Mary retired after 30 years of service with New Process Gear. She was a model of love and devotion to her family and of her faith. Filled with an inner strength and known for her gentle nature, she was a peaceful presence reflecting her love of God in all she said and did.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas F. Mirizio in 1946; her son, Frank Mirizio in 1985; her grandson, Ricky; brothers, Peter, James and Augustus and sister, Antoinette. Her memory is cherished by her daughters, Nora Coglitore of Lyncourt, Philomena (Joseph) Locci of Naples, NY and Pauline Mirizio of Syracuse; a son, Dominick G. (Theresa) Mirizio of Baldwinsville; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Concetta Figliuolo of Staten Island, NY and Esther Giliberti of Matawan, NJ along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass in celebration of Mary's life will be held on Thursday at Noon in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse is handling arrangements.
