Mary Ann (Carrino) Oriend's Obituary
Mary Ann (Carrino) Oriend, 89, of Cicero, NY passed away on Friday July 12, 2024, at Francis House of Syracuse NY. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Joseph and Angie Carrino. Mary Ann’s dad was famously known as “Joe the Barber” of N. Clinton Street.
Mary Ann retired from the Addis Co. clothing store in Syracuse to raise her family. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, going to the cassino, baking mounds of Christmas cookies, and most recently cooking for her grandchildren (4) and great grandchildren (3).
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband and soul mate Rocky (Rocco) Oriend of 62 years and her dear brother Joe Carrino of Tampa, Florida.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Oriend of Rhode Island; her son, Dean Joseph (Helen) Oriend of Virginia; four grandchildren, Deana, Casey, Kara, and Christopher (Laura); one great-granddaughter, Lillianna; two great grandsons, Christopher and Krew Myles, sister-in-law, Mary Jane Carrino, sister-in-law, Rena Oriend, her son Mark Oriend, and her loving niece Mary Oriend. Nieces Lori (Carrino) Moyers of Maryland, and Jaime Carrino, and nephew Chris Carrino both of Tampa, Florida are also very close relatives of Mary Ann. Mary Ann is also survived by her niece and Godchild, Jackie Utton; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends will remember Mary Ann as a loving and loyal friend.
Mary Ann will be missed by all who knew her spunky personality and fun-loving attitude. She was a part of several coffee clutches and made lasting friendships over weekly coffee meetings. She was an incredible woman with all her strength, and words cannot describe the impact of her unconditional love.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St., North Syracuse. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will take place on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
