I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Your Mom and Dad were exceptionally fine people. I'm grateful to have had them and yourselves as neighbors, great neighbors. There was never a time, not once, that your parents didn't treat me with kindness. I will always remember them for all the good they shared with the world.

Well I never had the privilege to meet Mary in person, I was fortunate enough to speak to her four times over the last three or four years during my quest to add to our Guanciale family tree. Mary‘s grandfather and my great grandfather were brothers both from our ancestral town of Collelongo, Italy. This past spring Mary contacted me by phone when she ran across an old 8 x 10 photograph of my grandparents, Domenico Antonio Guanciale and Carolina Mancini and my uncle and father. The photo was taken shortly after they had arrived in the United States in 1937. Mary was calling to see if I would like to have the photo! I was so excited about the photo that the thought of having it brought tears to my eyes. She carefully packaged up the photo and stuck it in the mail to me. I assured her that as soon as I got it it would be in a frame and on my walls of my home. I am eternally grateful that Mary took the time to contact me and send me the precious photograph. I will forever treasure it and treasure Mary for her thoughtfulness. My sympathies go out to her children and her grandchildren on the loss of her and her beloved husband Ralph two days later.
