Mary K. (Rozzano) Cook's Obituary
Mary K. (Rozzano) Cook, 51, of East Syracuse, NY passed away August 17, 2020 at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Sam and Elizabeth “Betty” (Cole) Rozzano. Mary graduated from Henninger High School and received both her bachelor’s and Master’s in Education at Le Moyne College. She was a 2nd grade schoolteacher at East Syracuse Elementary. Mary founded the CNY Brain Aneurysm Awareness Campaign now renamed The Mary Rozzano Cook Brain Aneurysm and Hemorrhagic Stroke Fund for education, awareness, and patient care. She loved traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, Edwin “Ed” Cook, Jr.; her children, Joshua (Kate), Victoria (Shohei), and Zachary; siblings, Sam (Brenda), John (Rich), Robert (Jennifer) and Joseph; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
