Mary Lou (Costa) Thompson's Obituary
Mary Lou (Costa) Thompson, 63, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Syracuse to the late Cora (Fiorito) and Carmen C. Costa, Mary Lou loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her husband, “Gunka.”
Along with her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, Glenn R. “Gunka” Thompson, and her brother, Carmen Costa, Jr.
Mary Lou is survived by her brother, Joseph C. (Barbara) Costa; sister-in-law, Donna Costa; nieces & nephews, Julie Costa, Jennifer (Brian) Niezabytowski, Jodie Costa (Tim Mack), Trevor Costa, and Justin Costa; great-nephew, Connor Niezabytowski; 6 step-nieces and nephews; as well as several cousins.
A funeral service in celebration of Mary Lou’s life will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Lou’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116.
