Marybeth (Boulais) Matyasik's Obituary
Marybeth (Boulais) Matyasik, 59, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Marybeth worked for the Onondaga County Personnel Department for 35 years and loved the outdoors, hiking, photography (particularly of her children’s sporting events), running, planning epic family vacations, and attending her children’s sporting and school events. She enjoyed country music, attending concerts, traveling, and of course, spending time with her family and friends. Marybeth cherished cooking and baking, including her traditional Christmas cookies, and took great joy in hosting family gatherings for holidays and special occasions. Most of all, she was a dedicated mother to her three children, a loving wife for 27 years, and a friend to many.
Marybeth is predeceased by her father, Roy Yager.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Matyasik; her children, Zachary, Joshua, and Andrew Matyasik; her mother, Sheila Yager; her sisters, Carol Boulais and Teresa Yager; her nieces, Katelyn and Claire Brown, Kristin (Andrew) Rice; her cousins, Michael (Kristina) Jordan and Jennifer Hirsh; and her faithful canine companion, Brandy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and staff at Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY, including Dr. Sousou, Emily Malone, the staff in the infusion center, and Maggie Sitnik, the St. Joseph’s Hospital Oncology 3-2 Unit, and the staff at CNY Infusion.
