Maryjane (Tangredi) Gratien's Obituary
Maryjane (Tangredi) Gratien, 80, passed away peacefully Friday, December 7, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse to the late Antonio and Rose (Conza) Tangredi and worked for NY Telephone for over 35 dedicated years, later retiring from AT&T. Maryjane’s favorite hobbies were bowling, playing cards, working on puzzles, and gardening. She was also an avid Syracuse basketball fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her cherished grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny (Pauline), Nicholas (Vera), Carmen (Carmella), Anthony (Norma), and Tommy Tangredi; a sister, Rose (Walt) Ozark; a son-in-law, David LaCelle; and a grandson, David J. LaCelle.
Maryjane is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ernest “Dutch” Gratien; children, Debbie LaCelle and Mark (Janice) Gratien; four grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Joseph, and Sophia; 2 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Ethan; two sisters, Edith (Tom) Kaufman and Gloria (Phil) Rizzo; a brother, Jimmy (Pat) Tangredi; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Tangredi; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Maryjane’s life at 9:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Maryjane’s life may be made to one’s charity of choice.
