Matthew Charles Grenier's Obituary
Matthew Charles Grenier, 59, of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1959 in the town of Poughkeepsie, NY.
A loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and uncle, Matthew brought light into any room with his incomparable sense of humor, his irreplaceable wisdom, and an undying passion for his wife and kids. A family man, Matthew was a hard worker and even harder person to keep a straight face around. With a steadfast moral compass, he was more than willing to offer guidance to anyone with an ear in his direction. Matthew will be remembered for all these things, but most importantly, he will be immortalized in the hearts of all who felt the warmth of his smile.
He is predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Phil Grenier. Matthew is survived by the love of his life, Kimmy (Erwin); his son, Matthew T. (Erica) Grenier; his stepchildren, Kyle (Allison) Thomson, Benjamin (Briana) Thomson, Cody and Madelyn Thomson; his grandchildren, Natalie, Bailey and Lucas, who were the light of his life; siblings, Jody (Roz) Grenier, Dominique Grenier, Chris Grenier and Mark (Debora) Grenier; several nieces and nephews, and his loving puppy, “Lily”.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday evening, February 23, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Matthew’s life at 8:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
