Maureen A. (Panik) Bova's Obituary
Maureen A. (Panik) Bova, 61, of Camillus, passed away May 9, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late David and Carol (Taylor) Panik and received her associate degree from Onondaga Community College. Maureen was known for her beautiful flowers, her green thumb, and her delicious baked goods. She was an avid sports fan never missing a NY Yankee or SU basketball game. Some of her most memorable and fun times were traveling and camping with those she loved. Nothing was more important to Maureen than spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest achievement was being a mother.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Brian Panik.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband of nearly 35 years, Paul Bova; her daughter, Captain Elizabeth Bova USMC; two sisters, Kathleen O’Connor and Kristin Russell (Doug Welker); father-in-law, Daniel Bova; four brothers in-law, James (Mary Beth) Bova, Daniel Bova, John Bova, and Anthony (Monica) Bova; ten nieces and nephews, Colleen, Patrick, and Thomas O’Connor, Stephanie (Egemen) Alici, Jimmy Bova, Daniel, Michael, and Sophia Bova, Jack Bova, and Victoria Alivero; three great-nieces and nephews, Paige and Carter Alici, and Bryson Estrada; her beloved dogs, Hershey, Sadie, and Nilla.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 20, 2024, at St. Patrick & St. Brigid Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse, NY. She will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus, NY. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
