Melvina May (French) McDermott's Obituary
Melvina May (French) McDermott, 94, of Syracuse, passed away July 25, 2024 at Upstate University Hospital. She was born in Mexico, NY, daughter of the late Harold and Elsie (Allen) French and graduated from Mexico Academy. Melvina loved spending summers at the family cottage on Point Peninsula, Three Mile Bay.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Bernard F. McDermott, Jr. in 2017; and her golden retriever, McDee.
Melvina is survived by her daughter, Kathleen McDermott (Donald Mace); her son, Patrick (Julie) McDermott; and her only grandson, Eric P. McDermott and fiancé, Ariana Louise.
She will be privately laid to rest next to her husband Bernard in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont, NY.
