Michael J. Azzolino's Obituary
Michael J. Azzolino, 83, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2023. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Michael and Nancy (Mangicaro) Azzolino. Michael graduated from North High School in 1958 and was a proud U.S. Army veteran, stationed at Fort Riley, KS. He worked several dedicated years in the painting and decorating industry and was the proud owner and operator of Syracuse Painting Contractors. Michael was an avid supporter of Syracuse sports and enjoyed trips to the casino. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Taylor) Azzolino in 2020 and his brother, George Azzolino.
Michael is survived by two sons, Michael R. (Carrie) Azzolino and Mark J. (Jennifer) Azzolino; his daughter, Suzanne O’Neil and her fiancé, David Carleo; six grandchildren, Ethan, Sean, Natalie, Veronica, Ryan and Hank; a brother, Thomas (Mary) Azzolino; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Azzolino, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral Mass in celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Pope John XXIII Church, 8290 Soule Rd., Liverpool, NY.
