Michael J. Cassano, Sr.'s Obituary
Michael J. Cassano, Sr., 93, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at St. Camillus Residential Health Care Facility. He was born in Syracuse to the late John and Claire (Rizzi) Cassano and was a proud U.S. Marine, serving in the Korean War. Michael retired from Chrysler Corp. after 30 dedicated years. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed gardening and frequenting the local casinos.
In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by his brother, Frank Cassano and his sister, Marie
Segreti.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sara (Piraino) Cassano; his sons, Michael and Joe (Debbie) Cassano; his granddaughter, Alicia (Blake) Pease as well as other grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his two brothers, John and Peter (Lee) Cassano; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes, funeral services will be private. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
